What does LFP mean and why this cell chemistry?
LFP stands for Lithium Iron Phosphate. These cells do not contain cobalt, are significantly more thermally stable than NMC cells, and can withstand many charging cycles. For a storage unit that is charged and discharged daily for years and located in a residential building, this is the safest common design.
How much do 11.9 kWh bring me in everyday life?
An average Austrian household consumes about 4,500 kWh per year, which is about 12 kWh per day. With 11.9 kWh of usable energy, you can typically bridge an entire night and morning. Realistically, this can cover 60 to 80% of your own consumption from your own system.
Is there funding for the storage system?
The EAG investment subsidy will fund electricity storage systems in 2026 with €150 per kWh of usable capacity, with a Made-in-Europe bonus of €165 per kWh. Up to 50 kWh and a maximum of 30% of the investment costs are funded, only in conjunction with a new or expanded PV system. All information is non-binding – binding information is provided by the EAG processing office.
Can I expand the storage system later?
Yes. A tower can hold up to 8 modules of 3.98 kWh each, i.e., up to 31.9 kWh. Furthermore, up to 4 towers can be operated in parallel, totaling up to 127.6 kWh. So you can start small and grow as you add a heat pump or electric car.
Can the storage system be placed outdoors?
The Reserva Pro is IP65 protected and approved for indoor use and sheltered outdoor areas, at -20 to +50 °C and up to 2,000 m above sea level. Sheltered means: no continuous direct rain and no blazing sun, for example under an overhang or in a carport.
