What is glass-glass?

With glass-glass modules, the solar cell is laminated between two tempered glass panes (typically 2.0 + 2.0 mm). The classic variant is glass-foil with only one glass pane and a plastic backsheet film. Glass-glass is significantly more robust but slightly heavier.

Advantages

Longer lifespan, higher weather resistance, less microcracking, better fire protection class, less degradation. Ideal for long-term installations over 25–30 years.

Bifacial variant

Some glass-glass modules are bifacial – they also generate electricity from the rear side through reflected light. Increased yield of 5–20% depending on mounting and substrate.
