Frequently asked questions
What does the DACH version mean?
The device, control system and documentation are designed for the German-speaking area: menu navigation and documentation in German, mains connection 400 V / 50 Hz. This means the heat pump can be used equally in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Subsidies and registration requirements differ by country – your local installer will clarify this.
What do L/W, S/W and W/W mean?
The flexoTHERM works with three heat sources: air (via the aroCOLLECT air collector), brine (ground collector or deep bore) and groundwater. The device itself remains the same – only the source changes. Practical if it is not yet certain at the time of purchase whether the drilling permit will be granted.
Which source is the most efficient?
Groundwater: 5.17 COP at W10/W35. Brine follows with 4.84 at B0/W35, air with 4.58 at A7/W35. The difference becomes greater at low outside temperatures – soil and groundwater remain constant, air does not.
Why R410A and not R290?
The flexoTHERM comes from an older series and works with R410A (GWP 2.088, 2.4 kg filling quantity). For this, it offers the source flexibility that is not available with the new R290 monoblocks. If you prioritize a natural refrigerant, the aroTHERM plus is a better choice.
Can it also cool?
Yes, actively with 8.52 kW at A35/W18. In brine mode, passive cooling via the ground is also possible – this only costs electricity for the circulation pumps.
