This means the collector can be used equally in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Subsidies and registration requirements differ by country – your local installer will clarify this.
Is this a complete heat pump?
No. The aroCOLLECT is the air collector, meaning it is only the heat source. The compressor and refrigeration circuit are located in the flexoTHERM or flexoCOMPACT indoor unit. Only together do both constitute a functional air-to-water heat pump.
When is this solution worthwhile compared to a monobloc?
If you want to keep the option for geothermal energy open. If drilling is approved later, the indoor unit remains, and only the source changes. Those who are sure to stick with air usually find an aroTHERM plus simpler and more cost-effective.
Can anything freeze?
Frost-proof heat transfer fluid, not heating water, circulates between the collector and the indoor unit. Freezing of the connection line is therefore excluded.
