Advantages at a glance

3-phase 11 kW, continuously adjustable

Charging power adjustable from 1.4 to 11 kW — for fast full-load charging as well as gentle overnight charging in 1-phase mode.

🔌

Fixed Type 2 cable

6.5 m cable length, directly on the housing — no loose cable, no searching, no risk of theft. Standard Type 2 connector for all European electric cars.

☀️

PV surplus charging with CT clamp

Supplied current transformer clamp measures grid consumption — the wallbox charges only with the PV surplus and does not feed any electricity into the grid (zero-export).

📱

RFID + App + WLAN/LAN

Access control via two included RFID cards. Control and monitoring via SolaX Cloud App or Web. WLAN, Ethernet, optional 4G.

🛡️

IP65 + IK10 impact resistance

Completely rain and dustproof (IP65), the housing withstands hard impacts (IK10). Operating temperature −30 to +50 °C — suitable for all seasons in Austria.

🔗

OCPP 1.6j + Modbus TCP/RTU

Open interfaces for load management systems (e.g. cFos, EVCC, Home Assistant) and for connection to external billing or cloud backends.

Frequently asked questions

What does "without LCD" mean for this version?

This version does not have an LCD display on the housing — the charging status is shown via LED indicators. All control and configuration tasks are conveniently handled via the SolaX Cloud App or the web interface. The absence of a display makes the wallbox more affordable and robust (no sensitive panel for outdoor use).

How does PV surplus charging work with the CT clamp?

The included current transformer clamp is clamped around the grid connection (L1) in the meter cabinet and measures the current consumption or feed-in. The wallbox continuously regulates the charging power between 1.4 and 11 kW so that exactly the amount of PV surplus that would otherwise be fed into the grid is charged. Result: Zero-export, maximum self-consumption.

Do I need to have a SolaX inverter?

No. The wallbox works independently of the manufacturer via the CT clamp — it functions with any existing PV system. In combination with SolaX hybrid inverters, there are additional comfort functions (prioritization of battery vs. wallbox, joint monitoring in one app).

Is 11 kW enough for charging?

Yes, for home use, 11 kW is completely sufficient. At 11 kW, approximately 55–70 km of range are charged per hour. An electric car with a 60 kWh battery charges from 20% to 80% in 5–6 hours — so it's always full overnight. 22 kW is usually only useful for fleets or short stops and requires a second grid connection approval (in Austria, reportable from 12 kVA).

Is the wallbox eligible for subsidies in Austria?

Yes. Wallboxes up to 22 kW are eligible for subsidies through the federal environmental funding program (Klima- und Energiefonds / KPC) as well as numerous state and grid operator funding programs — the prerequisite is usually operation with green electricity and registration with the grid operator. Current conditions can be found at umweltfoerderung.at.

What is OCPP 1.6j and why do I need it?

OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) is the open industry standard for communication between the wallbox and external backends. This allows you to connect the wallbox to, for example, a load management system (cFos, EVCC, Home Assistant), a billing platform (e-roaming, company car billing), or an energy management system — regardless of the manufacturer.

Who is SolaX Power?

SolaX Power is a Chinese manufacturer founded in 2010 and based in Hangzhou. The company produces inverters, battery storage, and wallboxes and operates in over 100 countries. In Europe, SolaX has branches in Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands. The products are considered to offer good value for money and are widely used in Austria.

Where can I buy the SolaX wallbox in Austria?
