Advantages at a glance
DIBt approval for overhead glazing
Certified by the German Institute for Building Technology (Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik) — the highest German building authority. This means the module is approved for carports, patio roofs, canopies and BIPV applications where people may be present underneath.
Shield System — Glass-Glass 2.0/2.0 mm
2.0 mm heat-strengthened glass on both sides, with an additional AR coating on the front. Tested according to DIN EN 12600 (impact resistance), DIN 18008 (glass in building) and DIN ISO 12543-4 (laminated safety glass).
N-TOPCon with 16 busbars
96 half-cells in 16BB design on n-type wafers. Lower recombination losses, practically no LID/LeTID and a favorable temperature coefficient of −0.29%/°C.
Bifacial with 80% cell bifaciality
Particularly effective for carports: the rear side uses light reflected from the ground with over 80% bifaciality — up to 30% more yield compared to a monofacial module, depending on the ground surface.
5400 Pa snow load, hail up to 25 mm
5400 Pa on the front side (≈550 kg/m²), 2400 Pa on the rear side. Hailstones up to 25 mm in diameter at 80 km/h tested. Flame retardant according to DIN 4102-1.
15 years product, 30 years performance
15 years product warranty and 30 years linear performance warranty with at least 87.4% remaining performance. Only −1.0% in the first year, then −0.40% per year.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does overhead approval mean and why do I need it?
Overhead approval is required whenever people can be present under the module surface — i.e., for carports, patio roofs, canopies, and BIPV facades. The module must then prove that it does not drop dangerous glass fragments even if it breaks. This Draco variant is certified by the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt) for exactly this purpose and tested according to DIN EN 12600, DIN 18008, and DIN ISO 12543-4.
What does N-TOPCon mean and why is this technology better?
TOPCon stands for "Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact". An ultrathin tunnel oxide layer and a doped polysilicon layer are applied to an n-type silicon wafer, which significantly reduces recombination losses. Compared to PERC, this means: higher efficiency, practically no light-induced power loss, better low-light performance, and a more favorable temperature coefficient of −0.29 %/°C.
What is the difference between glass-glass and glass-foil?
In this module, both the front and back sides are made of 2.0 mm heat-strengthened glass. Glass does not age like a plastic backsheet, does not outgas, and does not absorb moisture. For overhead mounting, the glass-glass construction is a prerequisite anyway — it also ensures excellent anti-PID properties and slower degradation.
How much electricity does the module generate per year in Austria?
A 445 Wp module in Austria generates between 440 and 510 kWh per year, depending on location, orientation, and tilt. At an electricity price of 25 cents/kWh, this corresponds to savings of around 110 to 130 Euros per module per year. For a carport with a light-colored sub-surface, bifaciality can add up to 30% more.
How many modules do I need for a carport?
A single carport (approx. 3 × 5 m) typically accommodates 8 to 10 modules, resulting in 3.6 to 4.5 kWp. A double carport (approx. 6 × 5 m) accommodates 16 to 20 modules, i.e., 7.1 to 8.9 kWp. For a single-family home with an annual consumption of 4,500 to 5,500 kWh, 10 to 14 modules are sufficient. SOLARVIC will be happy to advise you on the design.
Is the module suitable for alpine locations and severe hail events?
Yes. With 5400 Pa static load capacity on the front side (≈550 kg/m²) and 2400 Pa on the rear side, the module is certified for high snow loads. Hailstones up to 25 mm in diameter at 80 km/h have been tested, and impact resistance additionally according to DIN EN 12600. The operating temperature of −40 to +85 °C covers all climatic conditions in Austria.
Who is Phono Solar?
Phono Solar is a subsidiary of the Chinese Sumec Group, a listed conglomerate under the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC). Phono Solar has been producing solar modules since 2004, supplies over 100 countries, and manufactures according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001. The warranty is internationally reinsured.
