N-type cells are monocrystalline silicon cells with inverted doping compared to classic P-type cells. They are less susceptible to light-induced degradation (LID) and age slower, which allows for higher yields over their lifespan. What distinguishes the glass-glass construction?

In a glass-glass module, the cells are embedded between two panes of glass instead of glass and backsheet film. This permanently protects the cells from moisture and UV, reduces annual degradation, and enables bifacial use: light from the rear side is also converted into electricity.
