The S1500 is a power optimizer from SolarEdge that individually tracks the operating point per module (or for up to 1500 W input power) (MPP tracking). It is connected between the solar module and the string and increases the yield, especially with partial shading or unequal module orientation.
For which systems is the S1500 suitable?
The optimizer is designed for systems with a SolarEdge system and processes up to 750 W of module power or 1500 W of rated input power. This means that two modules can also be operated in series on one optimizer – ideal for large or partially shaded roofs.
How does a power optimizer improve yield?
Each module operates at its own optimal operating point via the optimizer. If a module fails due to shade, dirt or aging, the other modules do not drag it down. This significantly increases the annual yield, especially for shaded systems.
