Classic wallboxes need at least approx. 4.1 kW of PV surplus before they can charge in 3-phase mode. The SCharger starts with 1-phase operation from ~1.4 kW and automatically switches to 3-phase as the surplus increases — allowing significantly more PV hours to be utilized per year.
Do I need a charging cable?
Yes — the SCharger 22KT-S0 has a Type 2 socket, not a permanently installed cable. Standard Mode 3 charging cables (Type 2 to Type 2) are widely available and fit all current EVs.
What needs to be considered during installation?
