Dimmable 230V LED lamps and dimmable energy-saving lamps ESL additionally depend on the lamp electronics and the dimming method. Circuit with soft on and soft off for lamp protection. Universal control voltage 12..230V UC, galvanically isolated from the supply and switching voltage 230V ~ 50/60Hz. No minimum load required. Short control commands switch on/off, permanent control changes the brightness up to the maximum value. An interruption of the control changes the dimming direction. In the event of a power failure, the switch position and brightness level are stored and, if necessary, switched on when the supply voltage returns. From 110V control voltage, glow lamp current 5mA. Automatic electronic overload protection and overtemperature shutdown. Below the upper rotary switch on the front there is an LED that indicates an activation. It starts flashing after 15 seconds to draw attention to a potentially blocked control button. The upper rotary switch determines during operation whether the automatic lamp detection AUTO should be active, or one of the special comfort settings LC1, LC2 or LC3. If the setting range MEM+ is selected, the memory function is active and the last set brightness level is stored when switching off. If the setting range MEM- is selected, the memory function is switched off and it is always switched on with maximum brightness. Dimmable energy-saving lamps must be operated on AUTO and MEM-. AUTO allows dimming of all types of lamps. LC1 is a comfort setting for dimmable 230V LED lamps that cannot be dimmed down far enough on AUTO (trailing edge) due to their design and therefore must be forced to leading edge. LC2 and LC3 are comfort settings for dimmable 230V LED lamps like LC1, but with different dimming curves. In settings LC1, LC2 and LC3, no inductive (wound) transformers may be used. In addition, the maximum number of dimmable LED lamps may be lower than in the AUTO setting due to their design. The middle %Lamp rotary switch can be used to set the minimum brightness (fully dimmed) or the maximum brightness (fully bright). The lower dim-speed rotary switch can be used to set the dimming speed. At the same time, the duration of soft-on and soft-off is changed. With children's room circuit: When switching on with a longer button press, it switches on after approx. 1 second with the lowest brightness and, as long as the button is pressed, slowly dims up without changing the last stored brightness level. With snooze circuit: A double pulse dims the lighting from the current dimming position to the minimum brightness and switches it off. The max. dimming time of 60 minutes depends on the current dimming position and the set minimum brightness and can therefore be shortened accordingly. By pressing briefly, it can be switched off at any time during the dimming process. A long press during the dimming process dims up and ends the snooze circuit. L-loads (inductive loads, e.g. wound transformers) and C-loads (capacitive loads, e.g. electronic transformers and LED lamps) must not be mixed. R-loads (resistive loads, e.g. 230V incandescent and halogen lamps) can be mixed in as desired. For mixing L-loads and C-loads, the universal dimmer switch EUD12D in conjunction with the power booster LUD12 is suitable.
