They ensure protection of single-phase circuits against overload and short-circuit currents, protection against sinusoidal AC currents and pulsating DC currents with a smooth DC fault current component of up to 6 mA to earth, as well as fault protection (protection against indirect contact), additional protection (with IΔn ≤ 30 mA) and fire protection (with IΔn ≤ 300 mA).
