The Control Unit CU250S-2 is part of the modular frequency converter SINAMICS G120 (consisting of power section, control unit, operator panel). The control unit is suitable for single drives with higher demands on speed control. Extended safety functions and a large I/O framework allow for extensive applications. For vector control, two encoders (position and speed) can be connected. This extension enables use in hoisting/slewing/traveling or rotating applications. The Control Unit CU250S-2 controls and monitors the power section (Power Module) and the connected motor in several selectable control modes. It enables communication with a local or central control system as well as with monitoring devices and serves for the connection of all process-relevant auxiliary units and external components such as sensors, valves, contactors, etc. The extensive I/O interfaces, the fieldbus interfaces and the additional software functions optimally support the application in general mechanical engineering. The CU250S-2 features the integrated safety functions Safe Torque Off (STO), Safe Stop 1 (SS1) and Safe Brake Control (SBC) as standard. In addition, the integrated safety functions Safely Limited Speed (SLS), Safe Speed Monitor (SSM) and Safe Direction (SDI) can be enabled with the Safety License. The following integrated communication variants are available: CU250S-2 with USS, Modbus RTU protocols, CU250S-2 DP PROFIBUS as well as CU250S-2 PN PROFINET, EtherNet/IP and CU250S-2 CANopen. The Control Unit can be operated with the following SINAMICS power sections: PM240-2 (0.55 kW to 132 kW) and PM240 (up to 250 kW). SINAMICS - simply my drive.
