What is a smart meter and what is it used for?
A smart meter continuously measures grid consumption and feed-in at the house connection. This data forms the basis for optimising self-consumption, controlling the charging of storage units and zero export.
Is the GMK330 compatible with my Goodwe inverter?
The GMK330 is designed for Goodwe hybrid and on-grid inverters with RS485 connection. If in doubt, please refer to Goodwe's current compatibility list.
How is the smart meter mounted?
The GMK330 is mounted on a DIN rail in the meter cabinet and connected to the inverter via RS485. The three included current transformers are clamped around the mains conductors.
What does zero export mean?
With zero export, the inverter regulates the feed-in power so that no electricity flows into the public grid – useful in case of grid connection restrictions or without feed-in tariffs.
