Frequently asked questions
What does the DACH version mean?
The unit, control, and documentation are designed for the German-speaking region: menu navigation and documentation in German, mains connection 230 V / 50 Hz. This means the heat pump can be used equally in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Subsidies and registration requirements differ by country – your local installer will clarify this.
Split or monoblock – which is better?
With the split system, only refrigerant flows between the outdoor and indoor units, so nothing can freeze. However, this requires a refrigerant connection and thus a refrigeration certificate for commissioning. A monoblock like the aroTHERM plus is hydraulically simpler but must be connected frost-proof.
What refrigerant is used?
R32 with a GWP of 675 and 1.5 kg pre-fill, corresponding to 1.01 t CO₂ equivalent. If you prefer a natural refrigerant, the aroTHERM plus monoblock series offers units with R290 and a GWP of 0.02.
Does the 7 kW size fit my house?
The VWL 75/8.2 AS delivers 6.39 kW at −7 °C and 5.07 kW at 7 °C, each with a flow temperature of 35 °C. This is the typical size for a single-family house with a heating load of 6 to 8 kW. The exact sizing requires a heating load calculation according to EN 12831.
How far away can the outdoor unit be placed?
Up to 40 m of line length between the indoor and outdoor units. If the outdoor unit is higher, a height difference of up to 30 m is allowed; if it is lower, up to 10 m.
